TESTS TO OBTAIN CERTIFICATION

To obtain the five certifications issued by the five different international bodies of approval to which KEP Italia has chosen to refer in order to be certain that its helmets are safe, all the models produced must pass certain tests that verify their actual capacity to protect the head in the event of a fall from a horse.
These tests are outlined below.

VIDEO ON THE SAFETY STANDARDS TESTS.

Video created at the Newton di Rho laboratories (Milan) that explains the safety tests.

IMPACT ABSORPTION TEST

This test verifies the resistance of the helmet in the case suffering blows, such as those provoked by a fall or a kick from a horse.

PENETRATION TEST

This text verifies that the helmet shell is able to protect the head from blows by sharp objects.

CHIN STRAP RESISTANCE TEST

This test verifies the resistance of the chin strap in the case of a fall.

RETENTION TEST

This test checks that the helmet remains in place and neither moves nor comes off during a fall and, in any case, before impact with the ground.

COMPRESSION TEST

This very important test verifies the helmet’s capacity to resist lateral compression.
