Art&Cavallo, international contemporary art exhibition supported by Kep Italia.
Kep Italia is the main sponsor of the third edition of Art&Cavallo: not only an equestrian contemporary art exhibition, but a real international competition, focused on the theme of the horse and its ethical-emotional enhancement.
The aim of the project is to continue the long journey through the artistic language to enhance the horse "not only as a resource but as a relief".
The exhibition, curated by the architect Federica Crestani, was set up at Booth 2 of Fieracavalli - Verona from 4th to 7th and from 12th to 14th November 2021.
Art&Cavallo competition is divided into three sections: painting, sculpture and photography, in which every artist can participate in full stylistic freedom and using any support or material.
The call for participation saw more than 150 pieces by artists from all over the world. The thirty finalists, exhibited at Fieracavalli, were evaluated by the Jury Committee composed of experts related to the equestrian world, contemporary art and the field of assisted therapies. The Jury has evaluated the pieces considering the characteristics of contemporary art as well as qualitative criteria, research and technical capacity and interpretation of the ethical theme.
Art&Cavallo’s prizes, donated by Kep Italia, awarded the best work of each category: prize to Andrea Baleri for painting, to Hrvoje Dumancic for sculpture and to Maria Shutova for photography. The special KEP ITALIA PRIZE awarded the work of Paolo Nicolai, that will become part of the Kep Italia collection and will be reproduced, with an exclusive hand airbrush, on a Kep Italia helmet. The prize giving ceremony was held on Saturday, November 6th with the extraordinary participation of the historian and art critic Vittorio Sgarbi, Kep Italia ‘s guest.
Art&Cavallo exhibition has been set up in five sections. The main area is dedicated to 2021 international competition, but an area has also been reserved for the winners of the 2020 edition that, after a long wait because of the pandemic, have seen their works exhibited.
A new section dedicated to "Progetti D’arte" has been added with artistic installations conceived specifically for the story of Art&Cavallo. Third, an area dedicated to the works of Art&Cavallo LAB: ethical laboratories that integrate art to assisted activities with horses, dedicated to disability, autistic spectrum disorders and fragile adolescence. Also, in this area were exhibited the Kep Italia helmets on which were reproduced, with airbrushes by hand, the works of past laboratories.
Finally, the space dedicated to the four elements with the works of the Crestani collection, subjects of the advertising campaigns of Fieracavalli.
In the city centre of Verona, the collateral exhibition of Art&Cavallo "Cavalli d’acqua, d’aria, di terra e di fuoco" was held at Banca Passadore, in the historic Palazzo Balladoro, during the same days of the event.
